Reverse description Plain, slightly irregular incuse square punch occupying the centre of the reverse, with a rough granular surface texture across the remainder of the flan. The incuse square, a hallmark of early electrum and gold coinage of Ionia, is divided by faint diagonal lines creating a mill-sail or quadripartite pattern within the depression. The broad, unworked field surrounding the punch reflects the primitive striking technique characteristic of archaic Greek coinage from the late Archaic period.
