Beschrijving voorzijde Bare head effigy of King Frederik VII facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed portraiture. The legend is arranged in two lines along the rim on either side of the portrait. Below the bust, the date 1848 is divided by the Copenhagen mint mark (a crowned 'C' or crown symbol), flanked by the mint master initials, with the year split as '18' to the left and '48' to the right. The overall composition is characteristic of the mid-nineteenth-century Danish medallic tradition, with lettering close to the rim in the field.

(Translation: Frederik VII, King of Denmark. The love of the people is my strength)
Beschrijving keerzijde Laureate head effigy of King Christian VIII facing right, rendered in classical portrait style with fine detail to the laurel wreath and facial features. The legend is distributed in two lines along both sides of the rim. The denomination '1 SPECIES' appears in the lower field, flanked by decorative stops, while a commemorative inscription records the date of Christian VIII's death on 20 January 1848. The design serves as both a memorial to the deceased king and a dynastic statement marking the transition of reign.
