Frederik IV minted speciedialer with particular urgency in the early 1700s as Denmark prosecuted the Great Northern War against Sweden — a conflict that drained treasury resources and demanded hard currency for troop payments and alliance obligations. The Copenhagen Mint was under considerable pressure during this period, and output quality across the series is noticeably uneven as a result.
Hede 34 is among the more accessible dates in this reign, though examples with full, uninterrupted edge treatment are harder to locate than mintage pressures alone would suggest.
