| 正面铭文 | ·FRIDERICUS·3:D:G·DAN:NOR·VAN:GOT·REX· (Translation: Frederik III, by God´s grace, King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths) |
| 背面描述 | A crowned shield bearing the rampant single-tailed lion of Norway, holding a curved halberd and facing left, is centered over a cross. The crowned shield is encircled by a thin laurel wreath, with the royal motto legend appearing in the outer field. The date 1665 appears below the wreath, flanked by the mintmaster's initials F.G., which are divided by the shield. A beaded inner ring frames the entire composition at the rim. |

Frederik III acquired Norway's absolute monarchy in 1661 through a remarkable piece of political theater — the Danish-Norwegian Estates, exhausted by war debt and noble mismanagement, voluntarily surrendered their constitutional power to the crown. The Norwegian coinage that followed was administratively Danish in character, struck at the Christiania mint under tight crown control as part of a broader fiscal reorganization.
The Type XVIII series spans several die variants, with Rønning's classification separating them largely on the placement and rendering of the date. The 47a designation specifically denotes the date positioned within the wreath rather than outside it — a detail that sounds minor but has real bearing on die attribution and rarity within the type.
