Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Frederik III facing right, wearing an open crown decorated with three horizontal lines and fleur-de-lis finials, with long flowing hair falling to the shoulder; the king is shown with a short beard and mustache, his mantle adorned with an ornate lace collar and embroidered pauldron. The effigy is positioned at a low shoulder level within a raised inner circle. The encircling Latin legend commences beneath the bust and reads clockwise: FRIDERICUS:III:DG:DA:NOR:VAN:GO:REX, separated by rosette stops.
