Obverse description Armored and draped bust of King Frederik III with long flowing hair, facing right, enclosed within a solid inner circle. The effigy features high shoulders and is surmounted by a royal crown with three visible lines. The peripheral legend, commencing above the bust, is separated from the inner circle by a beaded border ring along the rim.

(Translation: Frederik III King of Denmark, Norway, of the Wends and the Goths by the Grace of God)
Reverse description A crowned, two-tailed rampant lion passant, the heraldic symbol of Norway, occupying the central field and grasping a curved halberd in its forepaws, all contained within a solid inner circle. The royal motto legend encircles the outside of the inner circle, with the split date flanking the mintmaster's initials PG at the conclusion of the inscription. A beaded border ring runs along the rim.
