| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Frederik III facing right, wearing an ornate royal crown with five visible arched lines, his long hair falling to the shoulder. The king's effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque style typical of mid-seventeenth-century Danish coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the royal titulary legend running continuously around the outer field between the inner and outer beaded borders. A six-petaled rosette serves as the legend stop at the base of the design. |
