| Obverse description | Laureate and armored effigy of King Frederik III facing right, wearing plate armor with a draped scarf at the neck. The portrait is executed in high relief in the baroque manner typical of mid-17th century Danish coinage. A continuous Latin legend encircles the bust, running along the periphery of the coin from left to right. The field surrounding the effigy is smooth and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the design. |
