Reverse description Central quartered shield of arms surmounted by a royal crown, the shield displaying the Norwegian lion rampant holding an axe in the chief quarter, with additional heraldic quarters in the Baroque style. The shield is flanked by laurel branches and the mint master's initials F and G appear to either side at mid-field. The date 1665 is divided below the shield. The encircling legend DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT (The Lord will provide) runs along the outer border between the wreath and the milled edge.
