Obverse description Armored and draped bust of King Frederik III facing right, wearing a large open crown with elaborate ornamentation atop flowing long curly hair. The king is depicted in baroque portrait style with plate armor visible at the shoulder and a lace cravat at the throat. A circular beaded inner border frames the effigy, with the royal Latin legend arranged around the periphery reading from the lower right. The overall portrait is rendered in high relief, characteristic of the milled coinage produced at the Copenhagen Mint during the absolutist period.
