| Beschrijving keerzijde | The elaborately quartered royal arms of Denmark-Norway displayed on a baroque shield, surmounted by a jewelled royal crown. The shield incorporates the arms of Denmark (three crowned lions passant with hearts), Norway (a lion rampant bearing an axe), the Wends, the Goths, Schleswig, Holstein, Stormarn, Dithmarschen, Oldenburg, and Delmenhorst, with a central escutcheon. Below the shield, flanking the date 1694, appear the mint-master's initials HC and the mint mark M (for Copenhagen). A small elephant privy mark appears below the shield. The circumscribed legend PIETATE·ET·IUSTITIA runs along the toothed border. |
