Aanvullende informatie

Leopold II's Milan sovrano series covers an exceptionally compressed window — he became Holy Roman Emperor in February 1790 following Joseph II's death, and the Milan mint was striking in his name almost immediately, yet he himself died in March 1792 after barely two years on the throne. The brevity of the reign, combined with the political turbulence of revolutionary France pressing against the Lombard border, kept production volumes modest across all three calendar years of the issue.
