| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse commemorates the centennial of the Statue of Liberty, depicting the monument at left with its torch raised, surrounded by sailing ships at right and a celebratory fireworks burst above, with an eagle in flight at the apex of the design. The scene is rendered in detailed relief against a darkened field, evoking the 1886 centennial festivities in New York Harbor. The curved legend STATUE OF LIBERTY CENTENNIAL arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1986 appears in the lower exergue. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Hutt River Province — the self-declared micronation in Western Australia that separated from the Commonwealth in 1970 under Leonard Casley, who styled himself Prince Leonard I — issued a series of gold sovereigns throughout the 1980s targeting the collector and bullion novelty market. The 1986 Statue of Liberty issue almost certainly commemorates the centennial of the statue's dedication, which fell that year and generated considerable international commemorative coin activity.
Hutt River's issues carry no legal tender status outside its own claimed territory. The X# prefix in Krause confirms this: coins catalogued under that designation are struck by non-standard or unrecognized authorities.
