Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King George V facing left, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, with fine detail rendered in the hair and beard. The truncation of the bust is sharply cut. A continuous Latin legend encircles the effigy, reading from the lower left and terminating at the lower right, separated by stops. The field is smooth and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the design.
