| 正面描述 | Left-facing bare-headed effigy of King George V, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, occupies the central field. The king is depicted with a short beard in the Imperial style, his truncation bearing the engraver's initials 'B.M.' The royal legend encircles the bust, reading continuously around the periphery in Latin. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the facial features and collar. |

Australia's sovereign output during this period came from three branch mints — Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney — each striking coins to Royal Mint specification but with their own mintmarks. The Sydney Mint closed in 1926, making late Sydney-mint dates within this reign genuinely scarce. Perth continued striking sovereigns into the 1930s, but Melbourne's output tapered sharply after 1924.
The 1920-S is the key date by a considerable margin, with a mintage under 1,000 pieces.
