Aanvullende informatie

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution celebrated its bicentenary in 2024, but commemorative sovereign issues began appearing several years ahead of that anniversary — this Alderney piece is part of that extended run-up. The RNLI has operated almost entirely on voluntary donations since its founding in 1824, a financial model that has made it a persistent subject for fundraising numismatics. Roy Barker I was an Arun-class lifeboat stationed at Poole, the RNLI's headquarters, and was named after a significant benefactor to the institution.
