Additional information

The Platinum Jubilee sovereign was issued to mark Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne — the first British monarch to reach that milestone. Two catalogue references reflect a split between the bullion and collector finishes released simultaneously, a commercial approach the Royal Mint had refined across her later jubilee years. It was among the last sovereign issues bearing her effigy struck during her lifetime; she died in September 2022, roughly eight months after this coin entered production.
