Obverse description Full-length frontal effigy of King Christian IV in royal regalia, crowned and clad in elaborate armoured robes with detailed chasing. The king holds a sceptre in his right hand and an orb surmounted by a cross in his left, standing in a commanding pose within the field. The date 1608 is divided on either side of the king's lower figure. A beaded inner circle frames the design, with the Latin royal legend arranged continuously around the periphery between the inner and outer beaded borders.
