| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a heraldic shield at centre, bearing the inscription 6TH JUNE 1944 at the top and the bold legend D-DAY 80 below it, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings. Five downward-pointing chevron banners within the shield bear the names of the five Allied landing beaches: UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO, and SWORD. The shield is surmounted by the Three Legs of Man (triskelion) symbol, flanked by ornate acanthus and oak leaf scrollwork forming a decorative wreath border. A ribbon scroll at the base of the shield bears the Roman numeral date MMXXIV, and the alloy designation GOLD .916 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the wreath. |
