| Reverse description | The central field bears the denomination 1 SOMALO in two lines of bold raised lettering, surrounded by a dotted inner circle. An arc of Arabic script reading ضرب في روما سنة ١٣٦٩ (meaning 'minted in Rome, year 1369') runs along the lower periphery, while the legend ROMA - 1950 is inscribed in Latin along the upper arc, separated by a central dot. Decorative foliate or wave-pattern elements fill the left and right sides of the outer field between the two inscriptions, lending an ornamental quality to the composition. A faint outline of a map or dove device is discernible in the lower central field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
