| Obverse description | A leopard passant is depicted in the central field, rendered in bold relief, facing left with its long tail curving upward behind it. Above the animal, a crescent and five-pointed star — elements of the Somali emblem — are displayed prominently. The legend SOMALIA arcs along the lower periphery in large Latin capital letters, while the engraver's signature ROMAGNOLI appears in small characters at the very base of the design. The overall composition is framed by a beaded border, and the artistic style reflects the refined engraving work of the Rome Mint. |
