| Beschrijving voorzijde | Two facing crowned busts of equal size, representing Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine, with a cross potent between them. The emperor on the left is bearded, while the figure on the right bears a mustache. The busts are rendered in a crude, provincial style characteristic of Avar imitative coinage. Surrounding the effigies is a continuous but nonsensical pseudo-legend derived from corrupted Byzantine prototypes, executed in debased Latin letterforms. |
