| Beschrijving keerzijde | A cross potent on four steps occupies the central field, without any symbol to the right, rendered in a schematic and stylized manner consistent with Lombard imitative production. The cross is depicted in a bold, slightly crude style, with the steps clearly delineated below the shaft. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, reading VTORI - A AVCC CONOB, a corrupted derivative of the standard Byzantine VICTORIA AVGG CONOB formula. The exergual inscription CONOB retains the conventional reference to Constantinople and gold fineness, though the coin was struck in Spoleto. |
