| Reverse description | A winged Victory stands facing left in the field, holding a long staff or scepter topped with a Christogram (staurogram) in the right hand and a globus cruciger in the left. The figure is rendered in the classical late antique style with elongated proportions and detailed drapery falling to the feet. In the exergue, the mint mark CONOB confirms production in Constantinople-standard pure gold. The reverse legend VICTORI-A AVCCC encircles the upper field, with the mint officina mark RM appearing to the right of the figure, referencing the Rome mint. A Theoderican royal monogram appears at the end of the reverse legend, distinguishing this Ostrogothic issue from its Byzantine prototype. |
