Obverse description The obverse displays the crowned arms of Savoy at center, rendered as a shield bearing the characteristic cross of Savoy, surmounted by a royal crown. The heavily worn field surrounding the central device carries a continuous Latin legend running along the periphery, abbreviated with bullet separators and recording the full royal and ducal titles of Victor Amadeus II. The design is characteristic of the small billon coinage of the period, with a simple inner border framing the legend.
