Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Siro d'Austria, Prince of Correggio, facing right, rendered in a slightly crude hammered style typical of minor Italian lordship coinage of the early seventeenth century. The portrait displays curly hair and a truncated neck. The encircling Latin legend reads ☩ SYRVS AVSTRIAC CORR DNS, identifying the issuer as Siro of Austria, Lord of Correggio. The legend is separated from the central device by a plain inner circle. The overall die work reflects provincial craftsmanship of the period.
