| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field depicts a standing figure, tentatively identified as the Doge or a saintly protector, rendered in low relief in the crude hammered style typical of Venetian copper coinage of the early seventeenth century. The figure appears robed and frontal, with stylized drapery visible despite significant wear. A partial Latin legend reading DEFEN NOSTE (Our Defensor) surrounds the central device along the periphery. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, as is characteristic of hand-hammered Venetian soldi of this period. Patches of green copper patina are present across the surface. |
