Obverse description Bare-headed laureate effigy of Napoleon I facing left, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair in the neoclassical style by Luigi Manfredini. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned. The circular legend reads NAPOLEONE IMPERATORE E RE, separated at the base by two small ornamental stops flanking the date. The inscription and date are positioned within a fine dentilated border that frames the entire obverse field.
