| Obverse description | Central crowned shield of France bearing three fleurs-de-lis arranged two above one, the shield surmounted by a royal crown with floral finials. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circular Latin legend reading LVDOVIC • D • G • FRANCOR' • REX (Louis, by the grace of God, King of the French) distributed around the periphery. The hammered flan exhibits the characteristic irregular outline typical of late medieval Milanese coinage. |
