Reverse description Plain field bearing a three-line Latin inscription in large raised capitals across the centre, reading SOLDO / DI·MAN· / TOVA, denoting the denomination and issuing city of Mantua. Two small cross ornaments appear both above and below the inscription as decorative separators. The coin is bordered by a toothed or milled rim consistent with the obverse, and a partial inner beaded arc is visible along the upper margin of the field.
