| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays a heraldic eagle displayed within a beaded inner circle, its wings spread and body rendered in a stylized medieval Gothic manner characteristic of Scaligeri coinage. Stars appear in the field flanking the eagle. The circumferential legend in uncial Latin reads the abbreviated names of the co-rulers Bartolomeo and Antonio della Scala, separated by punctuation marks. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hammered medieval Italian coinage of the late fourteenth century. |
