Reverse description A standing figure, identified as Christ or a sacred personage, is depicted in the central field facing forward, robed and rendered in a simple but dignified style typical of Venetian hammered silver of the period. The circular legend LAVS TIBI SOLI NI surrounds the figure, the inscription being distributed around the entire periphery of the coin. The reverse design conveys a devotional character consistent with the religious iconography standard on Venetian soldini of the sixteenth century. The plain edge and the small flan size reflect the utilitarian nature of this denomination within the Venetian monetary system.
