| Beschrijving keerzijde | A quartered heraldic shield occupies the central field, bearing the Visconti-Sforza arms: the imperial eagle displayed in one quarter and the biscione (a serpent devouring a child, emblem of the Visconti dynasty) in another, with additional Sforza dynastic charges completing the composition. The shield is set within a beaded inner border. The surrounding legend reads MAXIMILIANVS, identifying the issuer as Massimiliano Maria Sforza. The bold, high-relief rendering of the arms is typical of Milanese early sixteenth-century hammered coinage. |
