Reverse description The winged lion of St. Mark depicted facing, shown bust-length within a circular beaded frame, its wings spread prominently on either side in a stylised Byzantine manner. The lion occupies the central field in a bold, iconic composition characteristic of Venetian medieval coinage. A beaded inner circle encloses the device, with a further beaded border at the coin's edge. Partial Latin legend surrounds the design.
