Obverse description Central field bearing a large capital letter A surmounted by a princely crown, flanked by the date numerals 17 to the left and 20 to the right. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device reading ANT. I. D.G. PRIN. MONOECI., identifying the issuer as Antoine I, Prince of Monaco, by the grace of God. The lettering is rendered in Roman capitals along the coin's periphery.
