Obverse description The national coat of arms of Peru occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three quarters: a vicuña passant to the left on a white ground in the upper dexter, a cinchona tree on a white ground in the upper sinister, and a cornucopia overflowing with coins on a red ground in the base. The shield is flanked by a palm branch to the left and an olive branch to the right, both tied at the base with a ribbon, and surmounted by a civic wreath. The circular legend BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2017 inscribed at the base of the field.
