Descrizione del dritto	The centre of the note is dominated by a large sunburst vignette with a radiant human face, a classical Inca-inspired solar motif, set within an ornate guilloche border. The bank name BANCO DEL PERU is inscribed in bold letterpress above the vignette, with the denomination VALE UN SOL in large display type below. The date line reads Lima, 2 de Noviembre de 1864, with two manuscript signatures above the imprint GERENTES / American Bank Note Company, New York at the lower margin.

Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse is printed in dark green and dominated by two large numeral "1" vignettes flanking a central architectural column or obelisk bearing the names of Peruvian cities in letterpress, surmounted by a wreath and the letter G. The surrounding field is filled with intricate lathe-work guilloche patterns interspersed with repeated UNO numerals. The imprint Compañia Nacional de Billetes de Banco, Nueva York appears along the lower margin.
