正面描述 A fully armored knight stands facing right, his sword raised over his right shoulder; the date is divided on either side of the figure. At his feet rests the quartered provincial arms of Utrecht, with the small shield of Utrecht city at center. The mint mark — the Utrecht city coat of arms — appears at the top of the field above the knight. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, rendered in bold relief characteristic of Dutch provincial hammered coinage of the early eighteenth century.

附加信息

Utrecht's silver ducats of this period were struck under the decentralized authority of the Dutch Republic, where each of the seven provinces maintained its own mint and jealously guarded that right. The fivefold arms obverse distinguishes Utrecht's provincial output from the more widely circulated rider ducats, and the type saw continuous production across nearly three decades with relatively little die variation documented in the major references.

Delmonte S#982 pieces from this run frequently show uneven luster from the rocker press technology still in use at the Utrecht mint during the early part of this period.
