Obverse description Draped bust of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in military uniform facing left, wearing an epaulette and a star-shaped breast decoration, with short wavy hair and a small moustache. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail in a Western academic style. A circular legend in Thai script surrounds the portrait, reading the royal name and title, divided along the left and right periphery within a raised rim.
