Mustang — the former Himalayan kingdom absorbed into Nepal in 1795 and stripped of its last autonomous king in 2008 — never issued actual currency. This note is a novelty or fantasy piece, almost certainly produced as a souvenir or promotional item, trading on the romantic cachet of a place that was closed to outsiders until 1992. The signatures "Johnnie 'Fingers'" and "Filipe 'Slow Hand'" are musician nicknames, not monetary officials.
