| Reverse description | The quartered royal shield of arms, surmounted by the Imperial State Crown, occupies the central field. The four quarters display the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (a rampant lion within a double tressure), Ireland (a harp), and England repeated, arranged in the standard Victorian heraldic disposition. The Garter motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE arcs around the shield in the upper field, while the date appears in the exergue below the shield. The entire design is contained within a beaded border, with a plain outer rim. |
