Obverse description Central field displays a plain shield of heraldic form, quartered with diagonal hatching in the lower sections, set within a circular legend. The peripheral inscription reads PAYABLE BY PEELS HARDING & CO FAZELEY SILVER TOKEN, arranged around the full circumference of the coin. The date 1811 appears in the lower exergue beneath the shield. The design is executed in a plain, utilitarian style characteristic of English provincial silver tokens of the Regency period.
