| Obverse description | Printed on blue paper, this wartime emergency issue carries an orange letterpress overprint of '1/-' at centre, applied over the original 1 Shilling 3 Pence note text. The full promise-to-pay legend of the underlying note remains legible as underprint across the face. The overprint effectively revalues the note to one shilling during the German Occupation of Guernsey. |
