| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King George VI facing left, with a truncated bust showing the king in military uniform. The portrait, engraved by Thomas Hugh Paget, is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the facial features and hair. The circular Latin legend reads around the periphery, interrupted by the portrait. The engraver's initials 'HP' appear at the lower right of the truncation. A fine beaded border runs along the coin's rim. |
