| Descrizione del rovescio | Central design features a palm tree with a spread of fronds at the crown, its trunk flanked on either side by the denomination ONE SHILLING. The issuer name BRITISH WEST AFRICA appears in the upper legend, and the date is divided on either side of the palm tree base, where a mint mark (H for Heaton, KN for Kings Norton, or none for Royal Mint) may appear beneath the trunk. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
