| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned and draped bust of King George V, modelled by Sir Bertram Mackennal, occupying the central field. The King wears the Imperial State Crown and robes of state, rendered in fine relief with careful attention to decorative detail. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the coin's periphery, reading GEORGIVS V D. G. BRITT: OMN: REX F. D. IND: IMP:, separated by small pellet stops. The portrait is framed by a toothed inner border and an outer beaded rim consistent with Royal Mint production standards of the period. |
