| Beschrijving keerzijde | A tall, finely detailed palm tree occupies the centre of the design, its trunk serving as a vertical divider, with the four-digit date split either side — two numerals to the left and two to the right — within an ornate circular frame adorned with scrollwork at its base and lush tropical vegetation at the foot of the trunk. The legend BRITISH WEST AFRICA arcs around the upper periphery outside the inner circle, while ONE SHILLING is inscribed along the lower exergual area between the inner circle and the milled border. The overall composition is enclosed between an inner beaded circle and the outer milled rim. |
