| Reverse description | A young lamb is depicted in profile facing left at centre field, its slender legs and alert head rendered in outline style typical of FAO coinage. The denomination numeral '1' appears prominently at the top of the field, flanked to the left by the Somali legend 'shilin' and to the right by the Arabic equivalent 'شلن'. The date 1984 is inscribed to the lower left in Western numerals and to the lower right in Eastern Arabic numerals '١٩٨٤', the dual dating being a hallmark of this FAO commemorative issue. |
