| Obverse description | The colourised coat of arms of Zimbabwe occupies the central field, featuring two kudus as supporters flanking a quartered shield surmounted by a red star, with a Zimbabwe bird and flowing water depicted on the escutcheon. The motto scroll at the base of the arms bears the legend UNITY . FREEDOM . WORK. The denomination SHILLING 1 arcs along the upper legend, while REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE curves along the lower legend.
