Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the model by Mary Gillick. The portrait depicts the young queen with a laurel wreath in her hair and a ribbon tied at the nape of the neck, rendered in fine relief. A beaded border frames the design, with the legend reading clockwise around the periphery of the field.
